Jamshedpur, July 21 : Several LED streetlights and high-mast lamps are lying defunct on the 5 Km stretch at New Purulia Road in Mango. The Mango Notified Area Committee had spent around Rs 30 lakhs in the LED light project. Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture company under the Union ministry of power had been entrusted with the installation job.
MNAC special officer Rajendra Prasad Gupta said they were aware of the problem they have asked EECL, the agency authorised for the installation job to soon replace the defunct LED lights and high mast lamps. The LED lights were out of stock with the agency. But, the fresh consignment has arrived and that the replacement work would begin soon.
The New Purulia Road is one of the busiest roads which sees a daily traffic of around 40,000 vehicles including cars, bikes and auto-rickshaws. Over 100 housing apartments, shops, showrooms and other business establishments have come up on both sides of this artery.
