LED screens to telecast Republic Day parade

Jamshedpur, Jan. 25: Giant LED screens at Sakchi and Bistupur will live telecast the Republic Day parade at the Gopal Maidan on Tuesday.

The LED screens inaugurated by Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday aims to let the common people of this city know about important events, public interest information like accidents, road blockades and agitations in the city will scroll at the bottom of the screen.

Jharkhand director of information and public relations A.K. Pandey said, “We will link the Jamshedpur LEDs with the one at Suchana Bhavan in Ranchi so that the flag hoisting on Republic Day can be telecast simultaneously.” The screen would function through the day except between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. when there is not much rush at the market.

The LED screens with dimensions of 10X9 feet have been put by an advertising agency, Mark Ad, which has bagged the tender for installing similar LED screens across state. The advertising agency would operate and maintain the LED screens for three years from its installation.

Dhalbhum SDO Suraj Kumar said that the LED screens put up in Bistupur and Sakchi, the two busiest commercial hubs of the steel city, will telecast Republic Day parade were a large number of people travel through these areas.

Sources informed that the idea is to spread greater awareness. “We have already started two such screens in Ranchi and we have received overwhelming response. We are also planning to screen CM’s interaction with people in ‘Seedhi Baat’ program usually held on the last Tuesday of every month.
