Ethics Month 2023 concludes in Tata Steel

Jamshedpur, August 3: Leadership and trust have been biggest strength of Tata Group and we need to strengthen it further, said TV Narendran, CEO & MD, Tata Steel.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the Ethics Month 2023 organised today at Steelennium Hall inside Jamshedpur Works, Narendran stated, “Subject of Ethics is very important. This year’s theme Excellence with Integrity itself sends a strong message. Both personal and professional integrity are important and we need to demonstrate both.  Building a reputation of excellence through integrity is of utmost importance.”  

He congratulated the winners of various contests during the Ethics Month

Earlier, the day marked the end of month-long celebrations to reinforce Tata Steel’s commitment to ethics. Every year, the month of July is celebrated in Tata Steel as the Ethics Month, keeping with the tradition of inculcating ethical practices in the workplace.

Also present during the occasion were Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President, Tata Workers’ Union (TWU), Senior Leadership of Tata Steel, Heads of TIS Group companies and senior members of the Union.

During his speech, TWU President Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary suggested that unethical people face immediate consequence in today’s world and hence it is important for everyone to do the right thing and that role of Ethics Department in Tata Steel has been commendable in spreading the awareness on the subject through various means.

During the month, Tata Steel organised several activities to improve awareness on Ethics among its employee. Conducting an Ethics Pledge at multiple locations, Mass Meetings, Nukkad Natak, awareness session on POSH (prevention of sexual harassment), quizzes, video reels contest, Window on World (WoW)  session by Dr Pawan Agrawal, Founder & President of Kamalabai Educational and Charitable Trust, Mumbai and a renowned International Motivational Speaker were among the key activities organised.

The concluding ceremony included announcement of winners in various competitions held during the month.

The month also witnessed an Ethics Quiz for media-persons in Jamshedpur besides online quiz for media in Raw Materials locations.

Several employees across locations of Tata Steel and Group companies were also connected online to witness the event.

The theme for the Ethics Month 2023 was ‘Excellence Through Integrity’.
