Law and order review for Holi in Seraikela

Seraikela, Mar 26: Seraikela-Kharsawan deputy commissioner Arva Rajkamal held a law and order and peace committee meeting in view of ensuing Holi and Shab-E-Barat festival in the district and directed the officials to spread awareness about Covid-19 norms and safety measures like use of mask, social distance and hand washing techniques among masses and about the need to maintain utmost alertness in view of rising number of Covid-19 cases again. 
The deputy commissioner also directed that masses should be made aware about celebrating the Holi festival at home and not organise any function which would lead to crowding and that magistrates would be deputed at district, sub-division, block and circle level to ensure that proper Covid-19 norms are followed. 
The deputy commissioner also advised the thana officials to arrange for peace committee meeting at the earliest in their respective jurisdiction and directed block and circle officers to visit their respective areas to monitor law and order situation and stop spreading of rumours and incidents of eve-teasing during the festival of Holi. 
He also informed that on March 29 there will be prohibition on use of public amplifier system between night 10 pm and morning 6 am and in case of violation the public amplifier system would be confiscated and cases lodged under Section 188, there will be dry day on Holi. Officials were also asked to ensure proper water supply on the festive days between 4  pm and 6 pm on March 28 and between 1 pm and 3 pm on March 29. 
He also directed the traffic and police officials to be stern for any violation of traffic rules and driving under the influence of liquro
SP Seraikela Mohammed Arshi said that police team would be keeping special watch on those spreading religious hatred messages and rumours on the social media platform. He also appealed to the peace committee members to keep an eye on facebook and whatsapp group and promptly inform police about any objectionable content and fake news posted in social media aimed at disturbing communal peace of the society.
