Large quantity of illicit liquor seized in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 29: A joint operation conducted by the Dhalbhum Sub-Division administration and the Assistant Commissioner of Jamshedpur Excise Department resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of Java Mahua and illicit liquor from two locations in the district. Led by Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer Parul Singh and Assistant Commissioner of Excise Department RL Ravani, the raid targeted the Sukhalda area within the MGM police station jurisdiction. Acting on undisclosed intelligence, the team discovered 40 drums of Java Mahua in furnaces concealed within remote forests. Police personnel accompanying the officials dismantled the illicit furnaces on-site. Excise Department authorities promptly initiated legal action against the operators, identified as Mantu Mahato and Dukhu Mahato. In a parallel operation, the team raided Oraon Basti situated in the Sitaramdera police station area. A significant quantity of illegal liquor was seized from the residence of accused Durga Saav. Excise officials have initiated legal proceedings against Durga Saav in connection with the illicit liquor. Assistant Excise Commissioner RL Rawani and a contingent of officials from the Excise, Sub-Divisional Administration, and Police Department actively participated in the raids
