Land demarcation in Jamshedpur during Covid pandemic raises eyebrows

Jamshedpur, Apr 27:  Jamshedpur Circle officer has started land demarcation of a plot in Haludbani area in Parsudih amid Covid pandemic which has raised eyebrows of the masses. 
The land rent of the plot of land has been registered till 2021-22 and resident have been staying there since several years. 

Significantly, carelessness on the part of Jamshedpur circle office has led to land rents being charged online in the name of several persons of a single plot of land at Haludbani under Parsudih thana. 

The plot of land under mouza Haludbani, khata number 1165 online land cess being charged in the name of several persons. 

Land owner Patrick Vincent had sold this land to National Engineering through registered deed in 1960, 1963 and 1970 while National Engineering Company out of the total plot of 5.31 acre had sold khata number 628 to 29, Khata number 627 to 10, Khata number 626 to four, khata number 625 to two persons. Which makes it a total of 45 raiyyats. All the 45 have their jamabandi registered in their name and land rents is till 2021-22 and all are staying with their families on that plot of land which has been confirmed in the inspection report circle inspector Jamshedpur on April 22. 

However, in the circle office, online land rent is being cut in the name of Patrick Vinvent and National Engineering. As per rules, while making new khatas the old records should have been deleted and if the entire plot has been sold to various persons then the name of the land owner should have been changed. But this has not been done by the circle office leading to such a situation. 

A written complaint has been lodged by raiyats stating that influential persons dealing in lands through forged documents are trying to make themselves as heirs of Patrick Vincent are threatening the raiyyats. 

The raiyyats had complianed to the circle office that land records be rectified but this has not been done sofar. 

Though circle inspector after verification had stated that raiyyats had purchased the lands from the land holder National Engineering through registered deed and that they are the occupant.
