Ranchi: President of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Sibu Soren has given the clarion call for vigorous agitation against land acquisition ordinance terming it anti-poor.
Addressing media persons at his residence at Dumka Soren said that the BJP Government was attempting to implement the land ordinance with the support of the corporate houses.
If the ordinance comes into effect the poor would lose their ancestral land, he said.The ordinance would enact rules by which the corporate houses would be able to buy land from the poor on cheaper rates for setting up industries, Soren said.
The JMM chief strongly opposed the provisions of acquisition of farmland. He also pulled up Raghubar Das government for conducting recruitments without enacting domicile policy.
If the locals do not get jobs it would further boost unemployment, he observed. Soren said that JMM
would go to any extent to safeguard the rights of the farmers and the unemployed.
