Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Laltu Mahato and Fani Bhushan Mahato, a prominent member of the Mahato (Kurmi) community of steel city today declared their decision to vote in favour of JMM candidate Niroop Mohanty.
Accusing former JMM leader Vidyut Varan Mahato, now a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Jamshedpur Parliamentary constituency, of cheating on the Kurmis, Laltu Mahato said, �We as members of the Kurmi community have decided not to support Vidyut Varan Mahato in the elections. He has cheated us (Kurmis) by joining the BJP. He had the support of the Kurmis earlier. But now he has forgotten his commitments and become a part of BJP. This is why we have decided not to support him in this year�s election.�
Fani Bhushan made an appeal to the members of Kurmi community of the city to vote in favour of Niroop Mohanty. He said the Kurmis had been voting for JMM candidates for a long time. He said voting for Mohanty was necessary as Vidyut Varan had lost favour with the Kurmi community through his decision to quit as a member of JMM.
The twin leaders tried their best to vouch for Mohanty�s victory this election as they asked Kurmi voters to consider their plea for the JMM candidate.
