Jamshedpur: Social worker Lalit Das shared the joy of Deepawali with the inmates of Navjeevan Ashram in Devnagar, Baradwari, on Tuesday. He also distributed gifts among the inmates.
Das, patron of the city-based social organization Lok Samarpan, gave sweets, firecrackers, clay lamps, cotton wicks, oil and other necessaries among the residents of the Ashram.
Around 300 children and their family members were present to receive the gifts. Das lit diyas before several houses and also gifted shawls to few aged women. He sought the blessings of the senior citizens and promised to help them in every possible manner.
Addressing the gathering, Das said he was delighted to see the happy faces of the residents. He said Lok Samarpan was committed to the cause of the poor and under-privileged people. He said the outfit will continue serving the people.
Earlier, Das was welcomed by the ashram residents. Among others present on the occasion included Jainuddin, Gyan Singh, Neeraj Kumar, Pradip Kumar, Sonu Dutta, Abhishek Agrawal and Sonu Agrawal.
