Labour officer probes Minimum Wages Act �violation�

Jamshedpur, July 11: Labour enforcement officer CA Lakra visited the site of bridge construction in Tangarsai under Potka block to conduct a probe into alleged violation of minimum wages law by the contractor concerned. She spoke to the workers about the wages given to them and recorded their statement. She was accompanied by Zila Parishad member Sanjeev Sardar. She said a complaint regarding violation of Minimum Wages Act had been received by the labour office. She said stringent action would be taken against contractors depriving workers of minimum wages.
