Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Moolvasi Adhikar Manch members have decided to gherao the residence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren on 15th July to demand tribal status to Kurmis.
The decision to gherao the CM house was taken during a meeting of the outfit members held at Nirman Bhavan on Sunday. The meeting was presided over by the chief convenor of the outfit Harmohan Mahato. He said the Kurmi agitation for tribal status would prove to be a decisive issue in the Assembly election.
Many Kurmi leaders and student leaders were present on the occasion. Several Kurmi organizations of the city were present during the meeting. The agitation plan was chalked out during the meeting.
Among those present during the meeting included Santosh Mahato, Astik Mahato, Pranav Mahato, Sumit Mahato, Narayan Mahato, Prakash Mahato, Vinay Mahato, Ganesh Mahato and Achinto Mahato.
