Jamshedpur: The two day Kurmi conference organized at Shahid Nirmal Bhavan in Sonari under the aegis of Kurmi community concluded on Sunday. It started with the singing of Kurmali Nehar song. The chief speaker of the event was Ajit Prasad Mahato who gave a clarion call to all Kurmis to raise voice in favour of various demands for the welfare of the community.
The participants of the conference unanimously decided to make the upcoming dharna programme in New Delhi going to be held on 21-22 November a grand success. Later, the new state committee of the outfit was formed. Prasenjeet Mahato was elected president while Astik Mahato was elected convenor for Kolhan.
Among those present on the occasion included Baijnath Mahato, Sudhir Mahato, Subhash Chandra Hanstuar, Ganeshwar Bansariar and Sunil Mahato.
