Jamshedpur, Nov 1: An anti-cracker rally was organised by the Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) students on Friday to sensitise residents of Jamshedpur and adjoining area about the ill-effects of pollution caused by bursting of crackers.
The rally flagged off from the school where students along with teachers participated covering several areas of the city.
Students with placards underlined the role of citizens in making Diwali eco-friendly and pollution-free.
“On Diwali night pollution levels go up manifold and it becomes very inconvenient for aged people and asthmatic patient to breath. We should celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly manner,” a student said.
The rally after covering several areas of the city finally terminated at the school. Students marched carrying placard and posters related to anti-cracker campaign.
Meanwhile, with Diwali just a day away city doctors have said that people should take precautionary measures to ensure that they stay safe during Diwali.
