KSMS pays rich tributes to its chairman APR Nair

Jamshedpur : Kerala Samajam Model School and Kerala Public Schools Trust organised a prayer cum condolence ceremony at KSMS campus to pay tribute to its late chairman A.P.R. Nair, who breathed his last in Cochin on September 9 after a prolonged illness.

Senior members of Malayalee community of Jamshedpur and the academic fraternity gathered at the campus and prayed for the departed soul.

Nandini Shukla, KSMS principal said that he played a key role in spreading the reach of education in the society. He was such an icon that his void can never be filled.

T.K. Sukumaran, trustee, Kerala Samajam said his vision played a key role in development of education centres in the city. His contribution to the city’s education scenario is beyond comparison.

Nair had a humble beginning but rose to heights with his dedication towards spreading education in the society. He did his schooling from KMPM and later on became steno to general manager of Tata Steel.

He later on resigned from the post after he started stint in film distribution. Soon he was draw towards the mission to spread education. The rest as it is said that is history.

He was also associated with several social and cultural organisations. He was also the secretary of Jharkhand Unaided Private English Medium Schools.

Later, the Trust under his leadership started Kerala Public Schools (KPS) in Kadma, Burmamines, Mango, Agrico and Gamharia and one in Rairangpur, Odisha. The KPS chain started in 1995.

Nair was honoured by the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur and Dignity Foundation. He received the Karamveer Puraskar in New Delhi, instituted by iCONGO in association with partners from industry, media, government, students, SMEs and other sectors.

Nair was the secretary of Jharkhand Unaided Private Schools and Educational Institutions. He was also the president of the Chotanagpur Passengers’ Association.
