Jamshedpur : The Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) in Sakchi organised Ethos-it’s time to be ethical for its students today.
The Ethics Club of the school that organises a number of activities to ensure ethics being followed in school organised a day-long intra school competition cum activity to let students learn about ethics and to follow them in real life.
Students right from class I to class Xii participated in various activities designed. Students of classes I to III participated in choral recitation based on ethics, students of XI and XII participated in a debate discussing and arguing if parents are responsible for indisciplined behaviour among children these days.
Shailaja Rajan Gursharan Srilekha, the moderator of Ethics Club at KSMS, said that Ethics is the core essence in every aspect of human life. We , at KSMS, follow the ethical way of leading life.
She made it clear that ethical violation calls for appropriate consequence with zero tolerance. She mentioned that we , while our conduct , must respect others’ dignity but at the same time we should not tolerate any unethical conduct regardless of situations and relationships.
Students of classes IV and V participated in ‘Great Personalities’ where kids had to dress up like a famous or historical person reciting a speech. Students dressed up as Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Mother Teresa, Sarojini Naidu and Rani Lakshmi Bai.
Students of class VI and VII enacted plays based on ethics showcasing the right and the wrong that people commit in everyday life. Class VIII to X participated in ‘Creative Minds’, an event where the teachers judged them on their ability to react in a situation.
Students of class VII to X participated in a religion quiz where students from different faith participated and were asked questions based on Quran, Bhagwad Gita, Bible and Ramayana.
“Ethics is a matter of pride for all of us. The trust and credibility that our school and its individuals have without explaining every step of the way as one goes along is according to me the first sign of ethics.
The most fundamental aspect in ethics is to do what one has promised to do,” said a student.
