Jamshedpur, Dec. 9: In the annals of history, Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) achieved yet another landmark in the form of New Auditorium which was inaugurated on Saturday, 8th December 2018. The new fully air-conditioned auditorium with a sitting capacity of 900 is well equipped with good acoustics, light and sound arrangement.
Chief Guest for the occasion Tarun Daga, Managing Director, JUSCO was accompanied by dignitaries of Tata Steel namely R P Tyagi, Dipankar Sengupta, Rajeev Ranjan, Ritu Raj Sinha. Other eminent personalities included Principals of local schools, educationists of the town, members of partner agencies namely Masters & Senco and members of the Press.
The inauguration which started with the ribbon cutting and unveiling of the plaque marked the formal entry into the Auditorium. The floral welcome, thalampoli and the rangoli added colour and vibrancy to the show.
Singing of the school anthem captured the essence of the culture of the school and its spirit. Prominent guests were honoured with bouquets. Varghese Samuel, President, BoT delivered the welcome address while Nandini Shukla, the School Principal described the school�s Academic journey. K P G Nair, Chairman, BoT Kerala Samajam, felicitated the Chief Guest and delivered the concluding remarks and the way ahead. Sunil Kumar, General Secretary, Kerala Samajam extended the vote of thanks.
The cultural program comprised a prayer song followed by the graceful Thiruvathirakali -dance of Kerala, Keraleeyam – a programme based on the Art & Cultural Tradition of Kerala By Matha Peramabra group. Chilappathikaram� A Theatrical Presentation of Tamil Epic Chilapathikaram written by Elenko Adikal by Matha Pernbra.
It may be noted that from a modest beginning as a Club school run by the Kerala Samajam, in 1939 (8 yrs. before country�s independence and 17 yrs. before Kerala achieved statehood), it has evolved into a cradle imparting education to 3200 students transforming them into responsible citizens of the nation; Henceforth the future of KSMS will be scripted by the new and modern Premises gifted by Tata Steel Limited.
