KPS Mango dominates ‘Hook to Hockey’ challenge at NTHA Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, August 30: The Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA), in collaboration with Hockey East Singhbhum, organized the “ Hook to Hockey” Penalty Stroke Challenge today to celebrate the 120th birth anniversary of Naval Tata. As a visionary leader, Naval Tata’s enduring contributions to Indian sports, particularly hockey, were honored through this event, which aimed to ignite a passion for the sport among young minds.

The challenge attracted enthusiastic participation from 13 schools across Jamshedpur, with a total of 390 students competing. The event provided a valuable platform for young students to showcase their hockey skills and fostered a spirit of healthy competition.

Participants were divided into three age categories: Under 12, Under 14, and Under 16, ensuring fair and thrilling competition.

The schools that took part in the event included Rajasthani Maitri Sangh, Vivek Vidyalaya,  Ramakrishna Mission Middle School, Srinath Public School, Kerala Public School, Kadma, Kerala Public School, Mango, Kerala Public School, Gamharia, Kerala Public School, NML, Kerala Public School, Burmamines, Kasidih High School, JUSCO School South Park, Masti Ki Pathsala Pipla and  Ramakrishna Mission High School.

Boys Category Results: Under 12: Winner: Kerala Public School (KPS) Mango. Runners-Up: KPS Burmamines.

Under 14: Winner: KPS Mango, Runners-Up: JUSCO School South Park. Under 16: Winner: KPS NML, Runners-Up: KPS Kadma

Girls Category Results: Under 12: Winner: KPS NML, Runners-Up: Rajasthani Maitri Sangh.

Under 14: Winner: KPS Gamharia, Runners-Up: KPS NML. Under 16: Winner: KPS Mango, Runners-Up: Srinath Public School

The event was a resounding success, not only providing a competitive platform for young hockey enthusiasts but also promoting the sport at the grassroots level. The Naval Tata Hockey Academy remains dedicated to nurturing young talent and inspiring the next generation of hockey players, continuing the legacy of Naval Tata.
