Jamshedpur, Jan. 29: Arpita Singh, HOD, Mathematics and teacher of Kerala Public School, Kadma (KPS) received �National Award for Innovative Practices and Experiment in Education by NCERT� 2019. The project is about �Creating interest and fun in learning Mathematics through games and art activities among Primary learners.
She was also awarded the certificate of appreciation, Teacher Innovation Award by Aurobindo Society for sustainable efforts towards promoting joyful and experiential teaching.

Children make errors in basic operations like addition (carry over), subtraction (borrowing), multiplication and division. So she focused on these areas.
She used tools like colour paper strips to teach addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisions are done through activities like grouping methods.
The teacher was awarded by NCERT.
KPS Kadma Principal Sharmila Mukherjee and the school management appreciated the teacher for winning the NCERT award. “It is a proud moment for Kerala Public School Kadma and hope Arpita Singh brings more laurels to the school and city,” said Sharmila Mukherjee.
