Jamshedpur, Feb. 6: Kerala Public School (KPS) Kadma celebrated ‘Matri-Pitri Puja’ diwas on Monday with the objective of inculcating the importance of parents in our lives. The event started with the lighting of the lamp by Manorama teacher and the Principal of the school Sharmila Mukherjee. The programme was observed by parents and students of Std III to IX.
The gathering was welcomed by an address by the Principal of the school, Sharmila Mukherjee. On this occasion a thought provoking speech was delivered by students of std V and VIII expressing the importance of parents in our lives. Students showed love and respect to their parents by applying tika and offering garland and sweets to them. A beautiful song highlighting the importance of parents was also sung by the students.
Students at last took a parikrama around the parents to show that they are special to them and giving them the topmost place in their lives. The Headmistress K.Jaishree assembled the Vote of thanks. Also present were Primary Co-ordinator- Almelu and Shalini Sethi.
