Jamshedpur: Kerala Public School (KPS), Kadma, celebrated ‘Janani Diwas’ on Tuesday with great reverence, emphasizing the invaluable role of parents in shaping their children’s lives. The event, held from 8:30 am to 10:00 am on the school’s assembly ground, was graced by Chairperson Manorama Nair, Academic Director Lakshmi R, Principal Sharmila Mukherjee and Headmistress Alamelu Ravishankar.
The celebration commenced with a warm welcome for parents, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a melodious welcome song that left the audience spellbound. Addressing the gathering, Manorama Nair remarked, “Parents are one of the greatest gifts from God. Their unwavering sacrifices and wisdom shape us into who we become.”
Students from Classes 3 to 9 expressed their gratitude through heartfelt messages, Hindi speeches and poetic recitations. A soulful Punjabi bhajan created an atmosphere of devotion, while a multi-faith prayer by teachers promoted unity and shared values of love and compassion. A deeply emotional moment unfolded when students worshipped their parents, offering tilak, garlands, flowers and performing aarti, bringing tears to many eyes.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Headmistress and the National Anthem, leaving behind an atmosphere of love, respect and gratitude for parents.
