Jamshedpur, Jan. 24: Kerala Public School (KPS), Kadma, hosted the �Inter KPS Youth Fest 2015-16� with great pomp and variety on Saturday. Six schools including the hosts KPS Kadma, KPS – Gamharia, Burmamines, NML, Mango and Rairangpur participated in the day-long fest.
The day saw a number of off-stage and on-stage events for junior and senior students. Altogether 30 events were held under three categories. The events included Kinetic, Origami, website designing, face painting, eastern song and dance, western song, quiz, and debate to name a few. About 500 children were awarded on the occasion for their performances in different events.
The fest concluded with the prize distribution. Chief guest at the closing ceremony, Govind Sharan, Head, Urban Services, Tata Steel, handed over the prizes to the winners.
KPS Gamharia emerged winners with 132 points, while KPS Kadma was the first runners-up with 112 points.
The teachers and students worked together to make this program a grand success.
Earlier, Gayatri Singh, wife of District Commissioner Dr. Amitabh Kaushal, was the chief guest for the opening ceremony.
The ceremonial lamp was lit by the chief guest, school director and principal Sharmila Mukherjee along with principals of all other KPS Schools.
The event started with a prayer song. The welcome address was delivered by the director Sharat Chandran.
