Koshish pays homage to martyrs at Shahid Samman Samaroh

Honours kin of martyrs, salutes their spirit to serve the nation

Jamshedpur: City-based social organization Koshish on Sunday organized Shahid Samman Samaroh, a programme to honour the dependents of martyrs who laid their lives while serving the country. The event was held at Golmuri Police Lines.

The function was inaugurated by the chief guest, Anoop Birtharay, SSP of Jamshedpur. Other dignitaries included Major Yogesh of Sonari Army Camp, academician B Chandrashekhar, Varun Kumar of Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad, Swaminathaan Iyyer, district BJP president Dinesh Kumar and Amarpreet Singh Kale.

All the guests offered floral tributes to a portrait of Bharat Mata. National anthem was played on this occasion. Children also presented various patriotic songs thereafter.

Earlier, members of the outfit took out a bike rally from the Police Lines through various parts of the city to pay homage to the great martyrs of India.

In his address, the SSP said organizing patriotic programmes was necessary to instill a feeling of patriotism among the youths. He said the young generation should join such events to serve the nation. He said the district administration was always ready to help the families of martyrs.

Major Yogesh praised the organizers for coming up with the idea of felicitating martyrs� family members. He said such programmes would inspire the younger generation to serve the country.

Dinesh Kumar said the outfit planned to help the martyrs� families in every possible manner. He assured that such programmes would be held on a regular basis.

Among those felicitated today included Durgawati Devi, wife of martyr Jitendra Kumar, Sunita Sharma, wife of martyr Manoj Kumar, Naveen Kumar, father of martyr Manoranjan Kumar, Jagmaya Devi, mother of martyr Kishan Dubey, P Padmaja, wife of martyr P Srinivasan Rao, Archana Sinha, wife of martyr Ravikant Sinha, Rashmi Rekha Nag and wife of DSP Sushil Kumar Nag. Those honoured today included Havildar Manik Vardha, Havildar Birju Kumar, Sergeant Tapas Majumdar, Havildar Debraj Tiwary, Captain Shiv Shankar Singh, Havildar Ram Lakhan Thakur and Chief Officer Sukhvinder Singh.
