Kolkata lads Abhikanks and Sanu in front at Milky Moo Jharkhand Juniors Golf tourney

Jamshedpur, July 14: Kolkata lads Abhikanks Basu and Sanu Das carded eight over par 79s to take their place at the top of the leader board at the end of the first round of the Milky Moo Jharkhand Juniors being played at the Par 71 Golmuri Golf Course here.

Starting this event, the tour inaugurates its association with Milky Moo, the flagship brand of the fresh dairy products of Milk Mantra, for the rest of the season. Abhikanks looked good to take the halfway lead after he stuck a decisive birdie 2 on the 17th hole but a disappointing bogey on the 18th pegged him back a stroke. That put Sanu to take advantage but he too dropped a stroke on the last hole after sinking two birdies on the 9th and 15th holes during his round.

One stroke behind the leaders is Aroush Tagore at 80 and he leads the Category B standings over Kaushal Bagrodia of Kolkata who is tied for the fourth place with local lad Sukhraj Singh for the combined category.

Kaustav Coomar and Samridh Sen of Kolkata are separated by a solitary stroke in sixth and seventh place after carding 82 and 83 respectively.
Guhrmehr Bindra of Kolkata leads Category C by a clear three strokes after scoring an 81 to leave city mates Garv Lakhmani (84) and Ramayush Ray (86) chasing him for the title come tomorrow. Garv, who led most the day fell behind after he found the drink on the closing hole and dropping as many as four strokes.

Category D is led by Anshul Mishra (Kolkata) after carding an 85 followed by city mate Rishi Biswas, who is placed second a stroke behind in 86. Aditya Khaitan trails in third a further five strokes behind at 91.

The youngest lot make up Category E with Prashant Agarwal having established the halfway leader. He shot an impressive 44 and takes a two stroke lead over local lad Aashrut Almal at 46. Home talents Manan Adesara, L Sai Sumati and Sehej Virdi complete the top 5.
