Jamshedpur, April 5: Under the nationwide Congress protest programme against the central government that allegedly engineered the suspension of Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership and the Ambani-Adani groups’ hush-hush financial deals saw the Youth Congress units of Kolhan districts launch an agitation on Wednesday in front of the Adityapur toll bridge under the banner of Kolhan Youth Congress (YC) Committee. The protestors burned tyres and shouted slogans against the central government. Traffic was hit for almost three hours before it limped back to almost normal. The demonstrating Kolhan Region YC members shouted slogans backing Rahul Gandhi.
Jharkhand State Youth Congress Secretary, Premendra Kumar Mishra claimed, “Rahul Gandhi’s MP membership has been canceled through a conspiracy hatched by the central government and BJP leaders. But we are not afraid of the wolfish ploys of the central government. There will be a strong fight on every front and the anti-people policies of the central government will be fiercely opposed.”
Mishra further stated, “The Congress has always stood for, stand and will always stand by the country and defend the independence tooth and nail. Our forefathers had given the highest sacrifice. They had opted for death instead of dishonor.”
Mishra condemned the Centre for trying to suppress the voice of the people and what was done to stifle Rahul Gandhi’s voice was an indicator to the observation. “Since the last eight years, the BJP led central government has been hell-bent on ensuring economic benefits for the Ambanis and Adanis. Government properties are being sold off to them at throwaway prices and such moves are beginiong to sho negative economic impact on citizens. The Congress will continue to oppose such dubious and destructive moves.” Ravindra Kumar Jha, Prince Singh, Rakesh Sahu, Neeraj Singh, Mukesh Munduiya, Pritam Bankira, Rana Singh, Anupriya Soy, Awadhesh Singh, Brijesh Singh and several other senior Congress and Youth Congress leaders participated in the rally.
