Jamshedpur : The vice-chancellor of Kolhan University, R P P Singh met the students of BBA (Bachelors in Business Administration) and BCA ( Bachelors of Computer Application) at Jamshedpur Womens College and tried to pacify them. Singh faced the ire of students as they raised slogans against him and demanded justice.

However, in the end students of the Jamshedpur Women’s College agreed to accept a B.Com in Business Administration degree and not a BBA degree by the university.

The vice-chancellor, on the directive of the Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, arrived at the college and convened a meeting. Students raised slogans against the VC but Singh pacified the agitating the protesters.

Considering the deteriorating situation, the SDO Dhalbhum Prem Ranjan and the local police were rushed to the campus.
The VC explained students about the rules and regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.

He clarified that the university or the college could not offer a BBA or BCA degree because they did have approval from the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
