Jamshedpur, Feb 5: Kolhan University conducted its 52nd syndicate meeting on its Chaibasa premises. Senate member Amitabh Senapati proposed to provide free education (under graduate to post education) to all the security personnel who lost their lives in securing the nation or the state. The proposal was immediately approved by the Governing body.
The meeting was presided over by vice-chancellor Shukla Mahanty and other syndicate members. The university decided to request higher and technical education department to lower the eligibility criteria for SC/ST candidates in BEd admissions this year.
Senapati also gave proposal to start MCA department for betterment of the students.
The meeting also approved increasing the salary of computer operators in the university. The operators shall now receive an increased salary of Rs 20,000 compared to the initial Rs 16,000.
Also retired employees, who are hired because of shortage will receive an increased salary of Rs 11,000 as compared to Rs 8,000. The meeting also approved implementation of new pension scheme under the National Pension System
