Jamshedpur: Kolhan University recently hosted a one-day workshop and demonstration on DrillBit software at the Veer Poto Ho Auditorium in Chaibasa. Titled “Plagiarism Detection for Academic Integrity,” the initiative promoted originality in research and introduced faculty to advanced digital tools.
Leadership on Academic Honesty
Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta served as the Chief Guest, officially opening the event with a ceremonial lamp lighting. In her keynote, she urged researchers to maintain strict honesty and originality in their scholarly work.
Registrar Dr. Ranjit Karna welcomed the attendees and warned of the serious legal and ethical implications of plagiarism, stressing that the university must adhere to global ethical standards.
Mastering DrillBit Software
Resource person Soumyajit Datta Choudhury led a technical demonstration of the DrillBit platform. He explained how the software:

Collaborative Learning
The first session, “Understanding Plagiarism and Academic Integrity,” engaged faculty members and research scholars in an active dialogue.
Dr. Nitish Kumar Mahto convened the workshop alongside the Librarian-in-Charge, while Dr. Meenakshi Munda anchored the proceedings. The event drew wide participation from postgraduate departments, IQAC and RDC coordinators, and representatives from affiliated colleges.
Dr. Mahto concluded the day with a formal vote of thanks, marking a significant step toward transparency and ethical excellence in the university’s research culture.
