Jamshedpur: Kolhan University, has asked all its affiliated colleges to ensure 75 per cent attendance of students who would be appearing for examinations. The university has sent a circular in this regard to all the college heads.
According to information, University has written that it is essential for every student to complete 75 per cent of attendance counted from the opening of class upto the first of the month preceding the month in which the examination commences.
The students who have not completed a regular course of study that is not have completed 75 per cent of attendance would not be eligible for the examination of the same classes.
Sources in colleges informed that controller of examinations, has written letters to all the colleges asking them to ensure proper attendance of the students. He has said that according to rule of examination Bye-laws no student would be eligible to participate in the examination unless he has completed 75 per cent of attendance.
� Yes we have received the circular by the university and we have passed the message to all our students who would be appearing for the examination next year. We have always ensured that students are regular in classes but still the notice from Kolhan University is important for us and we are keeping a tab on attendance record of all the students,� said a principal.
The principal said that proper attendance help the students to remain updated in studies. The university has asked the schools to pass the information about those students who are not regular in their studies so that they could eliminated from the examination.
College authorities further informed that only those students who have valid reasons for their absence would be allowed to appear in the examinations that too only if the principles send a request letter to
the University officials.
