Jamshedpur: The first-ever one-day Invitational Kolhan Division Kho Kho Championship 2026 will be held on Saturday, January 24, at a ground near the archery field inside the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The championship is being organised under the aegis of the East Singhbhum District Kho Kho Association.
Teams from all three districts of the Kolhan division—East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan—will compete in the Under-18 and Under-14 categories for both boys and girls. The event aims to promote Kho Kho at the grassroots level and provide a competitive platform for young players.
District Secretary Victor Vijay Samad, Treasurer S.K. Sharma, and Joint Secretary Dayal Singh Mehra shared details of the event. They said the championship will be formally inaugurated by Jamshedpur West MLA and Association President Saryu Roy.
Several dignitaries, including social workers Rajkumar Singh and Purvi Ghosh, along with representatives of the District Sports Department and Tata Steel Sports Department, are expected to attend. Winning and runner-up teams will receive trophies, while players will be awarded medals, certificates, and individual prizes.
