Kolhan Commissioner and DIG review Panchayat poll preparations

Seraikela, April, 25: Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar and DIG Ajay Linda reached Chandil on Monday, April 25 to review preparations for the successful conduct of the three tier Panchayat Elections for the three-tier Panchayat Election – 2022. The District Election Officer (Panchayat) cum Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal, Superintendent of Police Anand Prakash, Deputy Development Commissioner, District Deputy Election Officer (Panchayat) cum District Panchayati Raj Officer and other senior officials held a meeting with the Kolhan Commissioner and DIG regarding the two Panchayat elections to be conducted in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. The preparations for the purpose were reviewed in the meeting.

A point wise information was presented by Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh on the preparations made so far for the first and second phases in the district through PPT for which the process of enrollment for the first phase had been completed. Scrutiny work had commenced on Monday while the nominations for the second phase had also commenced on the same day.

It was informed that the first phase of polling was on May 14 and the second on May 24. Staff for conducting the polls had been deputed. Training for the purpose was being conducted. In the course of the review meeting information on ensuring compliance of law and order and model code of conduct, vehicular arrangements for both poll phases, strong room and sub-division wise booth category and vulnerable booths were provided.

Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar directed that complete preparations should be made on time for conducting peaceful and malpractice-free elections in coordination with all police station OCs. He said candidates with arms license or there were candidates in such license holders’ families, in both cases arms should be deposited.

While discussing the extremist affected areas, the Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar instructed the officials to be fully prepared to thwart any extremist attempt to disrupt the poll process. He stressed that to conduct the elections in a good environment, it was very important to have coordination among all officials and employees.

 Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar said, “I am sure that all will discharge their duties and responsibilities in a dedicated manner and conduct the elections in a peaceful environment.” After the meeting, Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar and DIG Ajay Linda jointly inspected the strong room at the Chandil Polytechnic College for the first phase at Chandil subdivision. Necessary instructions and guidelines in view of fool-proof security measures.
