Kiranmayee Dey was the driving force behind Sreeleathers success

Jamshedpur, May 5: Sreeleathers family paid tribute to Kiranmayee Dey, wife of freedom fighter and founder of Sreeleathers, Suresh Chandra Dey, on her 94th birth anniversary on Friday, May 5.

With Shekhar Dey, son of founder Suresh Chandra Dey and Kiranmayee Dey out of town, the general manager of Sreeleathers, Tushar Sarkar, led the proceedings by paying floral tributes to the portrait of Kiranmayee Dey at the homage function organised at the Sreeleathers showroom at Kamani Centre, Bistupur.

While addressing the gathering, Tushar Sarkar said, ‘Today we are celebrating the 94th birth anniversary of Kiranmayee Dey who is remembered as brave, disciplined and sharp decision maker be it in household affairs or in the business front’.

He further said, ‘Kiranmayee Dey was the driving force behind Sreeleathers success and it was her decision and support to Suresh Chandra Dey right from the foundation days made it a renowned footwear retail chain’

Kiranmayee Dey was born in 1923 in Assam and later to moved to Jamshedpur where she breathed her last in 2011.

Social worker Bhaskar Mitra said, there is a famous saying that behind every successful man there is a woman. This implies here as Kiranmayee Dey played an instrumental role in setting up of the shoe trade empire and stood by her husband during his struggle days and motivated him to fulfill his dreams.

The saddest part of a woman’s life is hearing about the death of his son, but Kiranmayee Dey remained strong even during Ashish Dey passed away at a young age.

Another social worker and member of The Milanee, Bimal Chakraborty said that today it is the birth anniversary of mother of all Kiranmayee Dey.

Later, the dignitaries arrived in hordes to pay tributes to the wife of the legendary figure by garlanding her portrait. Sreeleathers staffs and a large number of visitors kept pouring in at the showroom throughout the day.
