Kin of Tata Motors Jamshedpur employee who died on duty to receive Rs 95 lakh compensation

Jamshedpur, July 9: The kin of deceased Tata Motors Jamshedpur plant employee will receive compensation of Rs 95 lakh, as per the agreement between the company management, union officials, and the family members of the deceased employee.

Arun Kumar tragically lost his life in an accident at Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant on Saturday.

Following negotiations, an agreement was reached and signed with the management. As per the settlement, the management has agreed to offer a permanent job in the JO grade to Arun Kumar’s son, Aman Kumar, with a one-year probationary period. Aman Kumar is currently pursuing a Diploma course from NTTF.

The letter, bearing the signature of Ravindra Kulkarni, the plant head of Tata Motors, was presented to Lalita Kumari, Arun Kumar’s wife. The family will get Rs 95 lakh and 6 thousand, which includes Rs 34 lakh and 6 thousand from the service fund, and Rs 61 lakh from insurance.

This amount will be disbursed in two installments over the course of one year, with an initial payment of one lakh rupees provided for funeral arrangements.

The family, upon the announcement of the job and compensation by the management, made preparations to proceed with the last rites of the deceased. It is noteworthy that Arun Kumar sustained severe head injury in an accident within the testing department of the Jamshedpur plant.

He passed away during the course of treatment late in the night. The agreement was signed in the presence of Soumik Rai, the ER Head of Tata Motors, along with Vishal Singh, BN Singh, and Rajat Singh. Prominent individuals present on the occasion included JMM MLA Mangal Kalindi, JMM Block Vice President Prakash Sahai, former Jamshedpur District President of Congress Ramashray Prasad, Sanjay Mani Tripathi, DD Tripathi, Deputy Chief Ajay Thakur, and a considerable number of attendees.
