Khalsa Sajna Divas, Baisakhi celebrated with fervour across Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The city witnessed a jubilant celebration of Khalsa Sajna Divas, also known as Baisakhi, on Saturday, as devotees congregated in Gurudwaras across the city to mark the auspicious occasion. The festivities were characterized by fervent prayers, community gatherings, and acts of service, reflecting the spirit of unity and devotion among Sikh communities.

Central to the celebration was the completion of the Shri Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, a sacred recitation of the Sikh holy scripture. Devotees participated in the uninterrupted reading of the Guru Granth Sahib, embodying the Sikh tradition of honoring the teachings and wisdom encapsulated within the holy text.

Following the conclusion of the Akhand Path, devotees partook in the sacred offering of Prasad, symbolizing the divine blessings bestowed upon the congregation. The distribution of Prasad served as a moment of spiritual communion, fostering a sense of camaraderie and devotion among the attendees.

Furthermore, langar, a hallmark of Sikh tradition emphasizing the principles of equality and community service, was organized after the Ardas, or Sikh prayer. Devotees, irrespective of caste, creed, or social status, came together to partake in the communal meal, served with love and humility.

The celebration of Baisakhi holds profound significance in Sikhism, commemorating the establishment of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699. It serves as a reminder of the values of courage, selflessness, and righteousness exemplified by the Khalsa community, inspiring devotees to embody these virtues in their lives.

As devotees immersed themselves in the joyous festivities, the spirit of unity and brotherhood permeated the atmosphere, reaffirming the enduring legacy of Sikhism and its timeless teachings of compassion and service.

The celebration of Khalsa Sajna Divas in Jamshedpur not only honors the rich cultural heritage of Sikhism but also serves as a reminder of the universal message of love, equality, and devotion espoused by Guru Nanak Dev Ji and subsequent Sikh Gurus.
