Khadi symbol of national pride: Raghubar Das


Jamshedpur, October 2: Bharatiya Janata Party Jamshedpur unit celebrated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and second Prime Minister of the country, Bharat Ratna Lal Bahadur Shastri on Sunday.

At a program in Mango Gandhi Maidan BJP’s national vice president and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, said that following the directive by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party on Gandhi Jayant as part of ‘Seva Pakhwada’, BJP workers have bought Khadi clothes.

“Gandhiji always appealed to the people to wear Khadi clothes to promote Khadi and our Prime Minister also talks about  ‘vocal for local’ and ‘Self-reliant India’, so that the use of indigenous products is encouraged,” said Das.

“Khadi has been a living symbol of our national pride and prosperity. This is a living proof of Indian culture, so it is necessary that the youth of the country should propagate and adopt Khadi. Khadi being the world’s most eco-friendly fabric is also a strong and important pillar of our economy, self-reliance and national integration. The livelihood of millions of people is linked to it,’added Das.

Das appealed to the residents and BJP workers and said that discounts are being given in Khadi stores till Diwali, in such a situation, when you buy clothes for festivals, then you must also buy a cloth of Khadi so that happiness and prosperity should also come in the homes of laborers and artisans associated with this livelihood.  He appealed to strengthen the economy of the country by promoting more use of indigenous products in the upcoming festivals.

Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato said that the role of Mahatma Gandhi’s Khadi cloth during the freedom struggle was incomparable. By wearing the clothes made by the British and the clothes made by them, the freedom lovers found themselves bound by the chains of slavery

During the occasion BJP leaders and workers erected a life-size statue of theMahatma Gandhi. .

They also paid floral tributes on the picture of Lal Bahadur Shastri. During this, the workers took a pledge to follow the paths shown by the leaders.
