Kerala Public School Mango gets NCC unit

Jamshedpur, Feb 23: The newly formed National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit (Troop No. 410) of Kerala Public School, Mango was inaugurated on Wednesday, February 23.

Chief Guest Col. Sanjay Shandil (CO) 35 Batallion, Jharkhand inaugurated the KPS NCC Unit. He was accompanied by Subedar Major GB Dhangal.

Commanding Officer in his inspiring speech said that nation building comes first for the cadets. He elaborated about the NCC ranks and the certification after completing the training. He said, NCC is above, caste, creed and religion and discipline should be foremost duty of NCC cadets. He harped on the motto “Once A Cadet Always A Cadet”.

On the occasion students of KPS Mango presented mesmerizing dance on patriotic song.

Academic Director of KPS Schools Lakshmi Sharat said that it is a dream come true and congratulated each one of the NCC cadet to have taken the right decision to be a part of unit.

The training imparted will provide them opportunities to improve all- round development with a sense of duty, commitment, dedication, discipline and moral values so that they become able leaders and useful leaders. Lakshmi was sure that their transformation and code of conduct will inspire batchmates and juniors to join NCC.

A total of 50 students (boys & girls) have enrolled for the NCC unit set up which will fulfill the aim of NCC “Developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens”.

Kundan Kumar (CTO), Sports Teacher at KPS Mango, has been instrumental in getting the unit set up. He has been assisted by Supriya Kumari and Sneha Singh who are also sports teachers of the school.

Lalit Narayan Choudhary and Rinky Kumari (NCC trainers) will guide and train the enrolled cadets.

The programme concluded with the presentation of NCC song by the school choir.
