Two day ABKM national executive meet gets underway

Jamshedpur, Sept 11: The two-day national executive meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Kayasth Mahasabha (ABKM) got underway on Saturday, September 11 at Chitragupt Bhawan in Sonari. Former Union Minister Jayant Sinha, who was present as the chief guest on the occasion, said, “Kayasth Samaj is like saffron in kheer (rice pudding) that changes the color of the kheer adding a bright texture and taste to the delicacy. The pen that is used to write historic plans and documents is the gift of Lord Chitragupt and we as members of the Kayasth community being His worshippers are recognized as skilled intellectuals. This trait of our community is an unending fountain of creative and positive thinking and deeds,” and added, “In meetings of such importance, we need to decide on furthering the future of our community.”

 On the first day of the program, National President Chaudhary Nath Singh, Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Viswas Sarang, Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha, Uttar Pradesh (Varanasi) MLC Asutosh Sinha, Arun Sinha, National Vice President OP Srivastava, Jharkhand State President AK Srivastava and other ABKM executives were present. A book on the speech given by Swami Vivekananda in Chicago was released during the first session of the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Viswas Sarang observed, “Some eminent people who have given a different identity to our community have engaged in nation building. Swami Vivekananda, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Rajendra Prasad and other men of eminence have done the work of taking this country to greater heights. People of many religions and societies live in this country.

The Kayasth community is identified for its intellectualism. In a multi hued, culturally and ethnically varied, the factor of unity is very much in evidence and it should be the responsibility of every community to come forward and join hands in the wotrk of nation building.”

Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha, who was present in the meeting, said that the message of unity in society increased with such events. “Today our population may be less than that of other communities but our sharpness of mind overshadows all. Today I am the only MLA from the Kayasth community in Jharkhand. But it is not that a person of Kayasth community cannot win from any seat in Jharkhand. Our focus is always on pushing someone else forward. That is why we have to come together and come forward for the uplift of our community so that Kayasth society dominates in every field.”
