Jamshedpur: The city witnessed an evocative blend of literature, culture, and social consciousness as the grand cultural-literary programme “Kavita Concert” concluded on Sunday at the Narbheram Auditorium.
Organised by Friends of Tribal Society (FTS), Jamshedpur, the event drew an overwhelming response from poetry lovers, intellectuals, social workers, and representatives of various organisations from Jamshedpur and adjoining regions.
The programme saw the participation of over 1,000 attendees, reflecting the city’s growing engagement with literary and cultural initiatives. The evening began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Rajesh Mittal, President of Friends of Tribal Society, Jamshedpur. In his address, Mittal outlined the vision behind the Kavita Concert, stating that the initiative was not merely a poetic gathering but a platform aimed at fostering social awareness, cultural values, and a spirit of nationalism.

The central theme of the programme, “Ram Aayenge”, was presented through powerful verses and emotionally stirring compositions by participating poets. Through their poetry, themes such as truth, dignity, compassion, duty, social harmony, and moral responsibility were highlighted, prompting the audience to reflect on societal challenges and the need for positive change.
Renowned poet Dr Anamika Jain Ambar captivated the audience with her sensitive yet impactful poetic expressions. Eminent poets Gaurav Sharma, Prakshit Mishra, Saurabh Jaiswal and Ashutosh Dwivedi further elevated the programme with their thought-provoking and emotionally charged recitations. Each performance was met with resounding applause, underlining the audience’s deep connection with the theme and literary content.
During the event, FTS officials also shed light on the organisation’s extensive social and educational initiatives. They informed that the Jamshedpur chapter of Friends of Tribal Society is currently operating around 580 Ekal Vidyalayas in the city as well as in remote tribal and rural areas. These schools aim to provide education with value-based learning, self-reliance, independence and a sense of nationalism, enabling children from underprivileged communities to integrate into the mainstream and build a stronger future.
The successful conclusion of the Kavita Concert reaffirmed Jamshedpur’s vibrant cultural landscape, highlighting the power of poetry and literature as tools for social transformation and collective reflection.
