Chaibasa, Jan 18: West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ananya Mittal has ordered probe into the recent incident of 61 students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Khuntpani leaving hostel at midnight and walking to Chaibasa. He has also ordered transfer of the warden, several teachers and accountant of the school with immediate effect.
Sources said the night guard of the school has also been sacked. The DC has ordered probe into alleged role of one Raghunath Mahato, guardian of one of the students, who allegedly advised the students to leave the hostel and go to Chaibasa to meet the DC.
The KGBV students had scaled the wall of their hostel and walked 18 km to reach the DC office. They accused the school warden and other staff of torturing them.
