Jamshedpur, August 27:Kasidih High School’s Equality Club, headed by Shalini and Shania Nanra, organized the first inter-school solo photography contest, – FOTOGRAFÍA-2023 in celebration of Women’s Equality Day.
Thirteen schools from across the city participated in FOTOGRAFÍA. The photography contest aimed to identify young visual artists in Jamshedpur who possessed the aptitude and interest to harness their creative and technical skills in the field of photography which, at one point of time was once seen as a hobby but has now transformed into a full-fledged profession. The primary objective of this contest was to extract the potential talents of teenagers and introduce them to the artistic realm of photography.
The panel of judges comprised prominent and experienced photographers Harjinder Singh, Daljeet Singh Gaabri, Ranjeet Singh Gaabri and Sunny Choudhary.The theme of the photography contest encompassed nature, creativity, macro, and architectural photography. The winner of Group 1 was Gulmohar High School, with Sri -Sri Ravi Shankar Vidya Mandir, Ghatshila, securing the runner-up position. In Group 2, Sri Krishna Public School emerged winner followed by JUSCO School South Park.
In addition to FOTOGRAFÍA, the celebration of Women’s Equality Day featured cultural performances and theme-based activities. The event’s chief guests were Miss Bebo and Miss Saira, transgender leaders.Souvik Saha graced the occasion as the guest of honor.
Vice Principal of Kasidih High School, Rakesh Pandey, while offering the vote of thanks, appreciated the dedicated efforts of the core team that organized the FOTOGRAFÍA contest. (w/gsd)
