Karim City students to carry out cleanliness drive across city

Jamshedpur, August 1: As part of the ‘Swachhtha Pakhwada’ (cleanliness fortnight) initiated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, to be observed from 1st to 15th August, 2017, NSS unit of Karim City College held a cleanliness pledge programme in the college premises on first day of the campaign on Tuesday.

At the event, students (volunteers) shouted slogan “Gali-Gali Bas Ek Hi Shor, Ek Kadam Swachhata Ki Aur” and pledged to voluntary work (Shramdaan) for 100 hours in a year i.e 2 hours in a week and through the awareness drive will make the more than 100 people around aware about the cleanliness drive.

The volunteers will also visit the religious places in Jamshedpur including temples, mosques, gurudwaras and churches along with adopted Kapali village, railway station, hospital and schools to launch cleanliness drive.

During the event on Tuesday, a Task force of 50 volunteers was formed for executing the work.

The programme was headed by programme officer of Karim City College’s NSS unit AK Anwar Ali and Syed Sajid Parwez. Also present were NSS unit volunteers including Man Raj, Anmol, Pragya Singh, Rinku, Vicky, Amara Iqbal and others.
