Karam festival shows to way to humanity: Harivansh

Jamshedpur: Karam Parv is a festival of nature. It shows the way ahead to human civilization. If we want to save the world, we will have to save �Karam� and the environment. This was observed on Saturday by Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, on the occasion of Karam Mahotsav organized at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, by Kurmi Sena.

Speaking as the chief guest, Harivansh said saving humanity would become impossible if the present generation fails to save the mountains, rivers, trees and other parts of environment. He said our forefathers were aware of the need to conserve the environment and hence they stressed on celebrating festivals of nature.

Harivansh later said that road should be paved to ensure that the Adivasis get their constitutional rights.

A cultural programme was held during the Karam celebration. A large number of people were present on the occasion. The dignitaries included Shailesh Kumar, Rural Works Minister of Bihar, Jaleshwar Mahato, state president of JD (U) and Shailendra Mahato, president of Kurmi Sena.
