Jamshedpur: State government has nominated three leaders of Jamshedpur Mahanagar unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on important posts in the Jharkhand State Women’s Commission, State Minority Commission and Khadi Board, Jharkhand.
It has nominated Kalyani Sharan as the chairperson of the Women’s Commission besides nominating Gurudev Singh Raja and Kulwant Singh Bunty as the deputy chairperson of the Minority Commission and Member of Khadi Board respectively.
The news about the nominations evoked celebration in the district BJP committee. District BJP president Dinesh Kumar expressed pleasure over the government’s decision to pick the three functionaries for the said posts from among the BJP members. He said the government had taken the right decision by selecting the most suitable candidates for the key posts.
“A good number of women and members of the minority communities are still ignorant about their constitutional rights. The newly nominated members would prove to be a strong link in ensuring the socio-economic development of women and minorities in the state. The experience of Kulwant Singh Bunty will also prove useful in taking the Khadi Board to new heights,” said Kumar.
The BJP president, in a press statement issued this evening, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Raghubar Das and the ministers in the state Cabinet for the nominations.
Many other BJP leaders too, hailed the government decision and said it would go a long way in promoting the interests of women, minorities and the Khadi Board.
They said the government should now take steps to fill up vacancies in various other key departments so that the state could move on to achieve faster pace of development.
