Kalyan Gurukul fuels employment and skill development dreams of youths in Jharkhand 

Ranchi, March 17: Economic prosperity of the state and skill development of the youths is the dream of Chief Minister Hemant Soren as well as the need of the youth of Jharkhand.  

Acting on the directive of the chief minister that these two sectors should complement each other and on his initiative ‘Prejha’ has been established under the joint venture of the state welfare department and Pan IIT Alumni Foundation, the main objective of which is to provide skills according to the demand of the time to secure employment for the youth of the tribal and backward population of the state.  

A total of 4,884 youth were given employment between December 2019 and December 2021 in Kalyan Gurukul, started in 2014 with the initiative of the then and the present Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren. Of these 3, 605 are boys and 1279 are girls. 
There are 3,723 Scheduled Tribe, 249 Scheduled Caste and 839 OBCs and 2,218 minority youths who have availed benefit.  This employment is with an average salary of Rs 14,350 in organisations like Shapoorji Pallonji, JMC Projects, TI Metal Farming, Synthesis Home Textiles, Indo Auto among others.  Since December 2019, 5443 youths by Kalyan Gurukul and 934 by Skill College have been secured employment after their training. 
Youth are being trained in various trades.

Kalyan Gurukul and Kaushal College have been established in remote rural areas, so that poor youth don’t face problems in transportation.  There are 28 such Kalyan Gurukuls, one ITI Skill College and nine nursing skill colleges in the districts of Jharkhand. The training for various trades like Construction, Manufacturing, Sewing Machine Operator, Driving-logistics etc. is being imparted in the Gurukul.  

To enhance quality in training, demo work site, Industry Grade Machines and Training Unit have been set up at Kalyan Gurukul to make learning easy for the students.  Also, loans are available for taking the training.  The objective of the government is to provide hundred percent employment to the trained beneficiaries by connecting them with big organisations in an easy and simple way. Training starts with discipline as the first principle of training.  To maintain this discipline, ex-servicemen are appointed as head teachers in Kalyan Gurukul.  International standards are followed in the training of the youth, so that students can also find jobs easily abroad.
