Kalpana Soren campaigns for Jamshedpur LS candidate Samir Mohanty in Ghasthila says, voters have the key to the unlock Hemant from jail

 Jamshedpur: In a spirited display of political fervour, Kalpana Soren campaigned vigorously in Ghatshila, advocating for Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate Samir Mohanty from Jamshedpur seat. The campaign event, held at the Dahi Goda Circus Ground, was marked by Soren’s impassioned plea to voters, emphasizing the critical importance of their support in the upcoming elections.

Addressing the crowd, Kalpana Soren, wife of JMM leader Hemant Soren and a prominent figure in the party, highlighted the necessity of each vote in securing the release of Hemant Soren, whom she claims is unjustly imprisoned. She urged voters, “Your one vote will open the jail lock,” stressing that a vote for Mohanty is a step towards justice and the betterment of Jharkhand.

The rally was organized by Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren, who welcomed Kalpana Soren and expressed confidence in her ability to galvanize support. Throughout her address, Soren targeted the central government, accusing it of serving the interests of wealthy individuals like Adani and Ambani while neglecting the needs of the poor. She specifically highlighted the issues of unemployment and inflation, asserting that the Modi government has failed to address these critical problems.

Soren recounted the achievements of the Hemant Soren administration, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. She criticized the “double engine government” for canceling the ration cards of millions of families but noted that under Hemant Soren’s leadership, 20 lakh ration cards were issued to ensure food security during the crisis.

“You have the key to the jail lock,” Kalpana Soren proclaimed, reiterating that every vote is crucial in securing Hemant Soren’s release and ensuring the victory of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) candidate, Samir Mohanty.

The rally saw the participation of several key political figures, including Ichagarh MLA and star campaigner Savita Mahato, Samir Mohanty, and JMM district president and Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren. The event drew hundreds of attendees, reflecting widespread support for Mohanty and the JMM.

Kalpana Soren’s campaign efforts in Ghatshila underscore the party’s strategic push to consolidate support and address local grievances, positioning Samir Mohanty as a candidate who will champion the needs of the people and advocate for the release of Hemant Soren. As the election date approaches, the intensity of the campaign signals a robust contest in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the Mahagathbandhan had fielded JMM leader and current Chief Minister Champai Soren, who suffered a significant defeat to the BJP candidate, Bidyut Baran Mahto, securing 59.4% of the vote share compared to Soren’s 33%.
