Kadma, Sonari reemerging as COVID hotspots as 34 new cases pop up in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 20: After witnessing a consistent slump in coronavirus cases for a month or so, Jamshedpur is now seeing a fresh surge in daily Covid-19 cases.

The daily detection of new coronavirus positive cases has again taken upward trend in Jamshedpur.

No COVID-19 death has been reported in the East Singhbhum district as the death toll remains at 375. The active cases in Jamshedpur have risen to 190 with 34 new positives reported on Wednesday, March 24.    

On Wednesday, East Singhbhum district reported 34 corona positive cases while 16 people recovered of the virus.

The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 18584. 16 people recovered of the virus on Wednesday taking the total recovery to 18019 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 190.

Kadma and Sonari areas of Steel City are emerging as Coronavirus hotspots. District health department has also launched testing drive in the region. More than 300 people underwent COVID test in Sonari and Kadma on Wednesday.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 227880 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.14% while the mortality rate is 2.02 %.

So far in Jamshedpur 617749 samples have been collected out of which 606617 have been tested and 588033 have turned out to be negative.

On the other hand, Coronavirus tally in Jharkhand on Wednesday reached 1,21,695 as 194 new cases of Covid-19 were detected while 77 people were discharged from various hospitals across the Jharkhand. During the day 2 deaths were reported as a result of which the overall death count has reached to 1100. Total active cases in Jharkhand are 969.

As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 969 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 1,19,626. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 1100. The recovery rate in Jharkhand is 98.39% while the mortality rate is 0.90%.
