Kadma Ganesh Puja gets 12 CCTVs to monitor anti-social elements

Jamshedpur, Sept 13: City’s most popular and oldest Ganesh Puja turns 97-year-old this year. Entertaining people since 1919, Ganesh Mahotsav will be organized by Sree Bala Ganapati Vilas in Kadma from Thursday, September 17 and will continue till Sunday, October 4. Like every year, 18-day long fair is all set to attract huge crowd.

Talking about the Puja, Working President of Sree Bala Ganapati Vilas B. Bapuji said, the main area of focus during the Mahotsav will be safety and to avoid any untoward incident during the fortnight long puja we have decided to install 12 CCTV cameras in the venue of which 8 will be put up in crowded places in the ground while 4 will be installed inside the Puja pandal .

“Police Sahayta Kendra will there at the ground to help the visitors and devotees handle any crisis while there will be more halogen lights, security guards will be present at the ground along with necessary fire engines.

General Secretary of Sree Bala Ganapati, M Shivmani said, for last several years we are emphasizing much on safety and its needed seeing the huge crowd presence during the Mahotsav.

“Being the oldest Ganesh Puja of the city the Mahotsav witnesses huge footfall and specially for women safety 4 toilets have been build in four corners of the ground while 2 have been put up for men”, said Shivmani adding that from the entrance till every corner of the ground there will be posters put up with slogans which would inform the visitors about the directions.

Talking about the Pandal, Assistant general Secretary of Sree Bala Ganapati Y.K. Sharma said, “The pandal has been modeled on the format of AsthayiTemple Sri Balaji of Hydrebad. The height of pandal will be 60-feet tall for which 50 artisans from Kantai and Kolkata are working day and night. The cost of pandal will be 405 lakh”.

Sharma further informed that the pandal will be inaugurated on September 16 at 8 pm by Chief Minister Raghubar Das in presence of Tata Workers Union President R Ravi Prasad, RK Sinha and Nirmal Kabra. The fair will be inaugurated on the same day at 9 pm by Jamshedpur MP Vidhyut Varan Mahato in presence of Ghatshila MLA Laxman Tudu and Astik Mahato.

Kalash Sthapana & Pran Pratishta will be done by Chief Guest and former CM Arjun Munda on September 17 at 9.30 am while Guest of Honour Saryu Rai will light the Akhand Jyoti on Thursday, Septmber 17 in presence of SP Rajiv Ranjan, BJP Leader Ak Srivastava and Social Worker RK SInha.

Fair boast of more than 150 big and small shops of crockery, toys, plastic items along with several food stalls. Joy rides at the fair include four giant wheels, three tora-tora, three dragon, 4 break dance, 1 Octopus, 1 Boogi-Boogi and three studios.
