Jamshedpur, March 19: The famous food plaza in Kadma was finally encroachment free on Thursday. The same plot was under possession of former State Agriculture Minister Banna Gupta who not only kept the land under his possession but had also made a way to the food plaza beneath his house.
For the same Urban Development Minister, CP Singh answering the queries in the state assembly had ordered the East Singhbhum District Administration to vacate the land within three days and submit the report in the assembly. Acting on the order, administration carried out the drive on Thursday.
At around 4.15 pm team of Jusco, JNAC and Kadma Police reached the spot and giving reference of government ordered to vacate the land. At the spot several supporters of Congress leader Banna Gupta were present but no one objected to the move.
Jusco team also stopped the way through Banna Gupta�s house; however the former MLA had enveloped the area and closed it. Jusco team also closed the spot with wire and has blocked it. On the occasion Zonal Officer, Kadma Circle Inspector Lalit Mohan Singh, Police Station officer Rajesh Prakash Sinha, JNAC Tax Inspector Ayodhya Singh and others were present.
The store room at the Kadma Food Plaza was used by Banna Gupta as his office were expensive tiles were fitted while in the park expensive grass was grown.
According to reports, whenever former Minister remained in town his colleagues used to gather at the park during morning and evening. Some of the locals informed that vehicles of former MLA used to enter through Road No. 8 of Kadma Bazar while other residents used to enter through Gate no. 1,2 and 3.
When Jusco team carried out the operation, supporters of Banna Gupta were present at the spot. One of the supporters by his mobile while other by his camera was recording the whole process.
They also clicked pictures of every journalist, photographer, police and Jusco officials entering the park.
High Mast light was being installed near Food Plaza Gate No .8 and according to reports, the lights was installed at Sahid Nirmal mahato Chowk but it was removed from the previous spot and was reinstalled near the plaza gate.
Fearing action, the expensive plants near the store room of Gupta were uprooted. By the way, Ashok trees surround the food plaza.
