JWC to revive the Gandhian Study Centre

Jamshedpur, Jan. 30: A solemn function was organized in Jamshedpur Women’s College on Saturday to pay tributes to the Father of Nation.

Prof- in-charge Dr. Sujata Sinha remembered Gandhiji as a unique human being who had not written many books but his actions, his deeds were a lesson for the country. She said that like Vivekanand, Ramkrishna Paramhans, Gandhi was also a saintly figure who dedicated his life for the country.

Dr. Poornima Kumar H.O.D, political science department of Kolhan University, was present as university representative. She was the coordinator of Gandhian Research Centre of J.W.C too. She threw light on Gandhi’s philosophy and asked the Prof- in-charge Dr. Sujata Sinha to revive the Gandhian Study Centre.

She informed that admission for the one year M.Phil program in Gandhian thought has started and classes will be resumed soon.

Dr. Joohi Samarpita, assistant Prof M.Ed., Faculty of Education, also spoke on educational philosophy of Gandhi and said that his basic education, his moral education is still relevant and has been integrated in National Education Policy.

Dr. Shahla Jabeen anchored the programme. Dr. Sanatan Deep sang Gandhiji’s favourite bhajan, “Vaishno Janto Peer Kahiye……….” M.Ed. student Snehlata Choubey rendered a self composed song on Gandhi.

The students of M.Ed. and Gandhian Study Center along with teachers paid floral tributes on the portrait of Gandhiji and maintained two minutes silence to show respect to this great national hero, who is now an institution in himself.

Manoj Kumar, Sushil Tiwary, Ms. Sharmila and others were present on this solemn occasion.
