JVM delegation meets JSEB GM, demands solution to power problems

Jamshedpur: A delegation of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) members today met the general manager of Jharkhand State Electricity Board, Jamshedpur, AK Singh, and handed over a memorandum to him demanding measures to solve the power related woes of the people living in various parts of the city.

The JVM leaders alleged that the JSEB had turned a blind eye to the problems of the busti dwellers by not taking adequate measures to solve their power woes. They said solving the power problems should be the top priority of the state electricity department.

Leading the delegation, the outfit secretary Abhay Singh said the residents of many city localities were reeling under severe power crisis. These localities include Chhayanagar, Nirmalnagar, Chandinagar, Kalyannagar, Shantinagar, Adarshnagar, Bhuiyandih, Kanhu Bhatta, Babudih, Lal Bhatta, Nandnagar, Bagunhatu, Neem Bhatta, Bara Bhatta, Mithila Colony, Pragati Nagar, Santhal Busti, Baridih, Birsanagar Mukhi Busti, Birsanagar 1B, Birsanagar zone number 2, 3, 5, 6, 9 and 11, Bhaktinagar, Das Busti and Chuna Bhatta of Burmamines.

It is dismaying to know that the JSEB has not been able to solve the problem of frequent powershedding in the various localities of the city. Due to frequent power cuts, the citizens are unable to carry out their daily household chores. Students, patients and senior citizens too, are a harassed lot as there is no one who can solve their problems, said Singh.

The JVM leaders said the dilapidated power cables and wires should be replaced along with the electric poles. They said the party will go on an indefinite protest in case their demands are not fulfilled soon.
