Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha will be observing Jamshedpur bandh on 20th September in favour of its demand for construction of flyovers in the city to prevent road accidents and fatalities.
This was announced today by the party central secretary Abhay Singh who alleged that the corporate houses were continuously ignoring the vital issue concerning road safety.
JVM has long been raising the flyover and road safety issue. But unfortunately our pleas have gone unheard so far.
Neither the state government nor the private companies have paid heed to our demand for flyovers in the city.
Since city roads have only shrunk in the last several decades, it is necessary that flyovers be constructed at several places in the city to accommodate increasing number of vehicles. We have called the bandh to push our demand further, said the JVM leader.
The JVM leader praised the efforts of district administration to create awareness through its ongoing Parivartan rally. He said such programmes were helpful in preventing violation of traffic rules.
